High Performance Detection System for ARPES and Imaging Application for PHOIBOS and KREIOS Analyzers with True Pulse Counting and High Dynamic Range

The SPECS 2D CMOS detector is a two dimensional detection system for PHOIBOS and KREIOS hemispherical analyzers, utilizing a fast CMOS detector and true pusle counting (parallel single event detection). Single events on the detector are aquired by the fast CMOS camera with up to 160 fps and identified by a graphics processing unit at high speed. This, in combination with the high exposure capability of the CMOS camera yields in real counts per second (cps) with very high linearity up <6x106 cps. This new detection system, delevoped by Dan Dessau, overcomes the current limitation of classical CCD based detection systems.

The 2D-CMOS detector is compatible with all PHOIBOS and KREIOS anylzer systems. Existing analyzers can easily be upgraded to the new technolgy without major changes on the installed anlyzer.
