How to report a vulnerability?

To help us assess and process your report efficiently, please provide as much of the following information as possible:

Description of the vulnerability: Describe the security issue and how it can be reproduced.

Potential impact: Please describe the potential or observed impact and indicate whether you believe the vulnerability is actively being exploited.
Disclosure status: Please let us know whether the vulnerability has already been disclosed publicly or whether you are planning to disclose it.

What happens after you report?
1. Acknowledgement: The SPECS Surface Nano Analysis GmbH PSIRT will acknowledge receipt within two business days.
2. Initial assessment: Initial substantive response within one week after acknowledgement.
3. Analysis and remediation: Coordination of remediation measures.
4. Status updates: Updates at least every two weeks.
5. Security advisory: SPECS Surface Nano Analysis GmbH may publish a Security Advisory.
Coordinated disclosure and safe harbor
SPECS Surface Nano Analysis GmbH supports responsible and coordinated disclosure of security vulnerabilities.
Security researchers conducting vulnerability research in good faith and in accordance with our Vulnerability Disclosure Policy are covered by our Safe Harbor provisions. Among other requirements, researchers must limit their activities to security research and reporting, protect the confidentiality and availability of systems and data, avoid disruptive activities, and refrain from public disclosure for at least 90 days after Heidelberg Instruments receives a complete and reproducible report, unless Heidelberg Instruments agrees otherwise in writing.
