Mimea BP6 Base Package
The sixth-generation Nanonis Mimea base package represents a new benchmark for scanning probe microscopy (SPM)
Following the Nanonis core philosophy that the measurement instruments should never be the limiting factor in a scientific experiment, the system has undergone continuous product development driven directly by the needs of the SPM community. This unique collaboration has resulted in over a hundred new features and specialized solutions, developed by an in-house software engineering team determined to provide effective solutions and new features in a short time.
This sixth generation Nanonis Mimea base package addresses current and future demands through a ground-up redesign. And while the external appearance might seem familiar, the completely new hardware design and software architecture are capable of delivering performance levels previously considered inconceivable. Paired with a higher degree of modularity, the new architecture lays a solid foundation for further decades of continuous development.
KEY FEATURES
- Advanced high-speed data processing architecture
- A new standard in signal quality for data acquisition and signal generation
- Unparalleled flexibility in signal modulation and mixing
- Optimal I/O placement capability via galvanically isolated optical interconnects
- Ready and open for AI integration
RC6 Real-Time Controller
The all new RC6 real-time controller provides direct visualization of all raw signals, eliminating the need for pre-processing. This low-latency design supports 7× higher transfer rates and 200 MS/s sampling with synchronous I/O.
Optimized for low HF signatures and distributed measurements, it uses galvanically isolated optical fibers to connect interfaces to the RC6 core. To manage over 128 I/O channels and 200+ simultaneous signals, the RC6 utilizes a larger FPGA, a powerful CPU, and faster storage.
SC6 Signal Conversion
The new SC6 signal conversion modul provides state-of-the-art performance with 24-bit 2 MS/s ADCs, delivering 3× lower noise and 8× higher resolution. True-differential inputs and AC-coupling detect minimal modulations, while the 31-bit DAC architecture removes the need for external adders. Variable filters offer 6× higher bandwidth for stable feedback. With output noise up to 6× lower, all channels serve as monitored current sources up to 25 mA.
