SPECS NAP-XPS system at Eindhoven University of Technology

In a video from Eindhoven University of Technology, Dr. Nikolay Kosinov and Dr. Marta Costa Figueiredo present their research and explain the role played by a SPECS NAP-XPS system. Watch the video here.

Assistant professors Dr. Nikolay Kosinov and Dr. Marta Costa Figueiredo, members of Prof. Emiel Hensen's Inorganic Materials & Catalysis group at the Eindhoven University of Technology have published a promotional video featuring a SPECS NAP-XPS system located in their labs. Dr. Nikolay Kosinov explains in the video how the NAP-XPS is helping him in his search for more selective, active and stable catalysts as part of the Advanced Research Center Chemical Building Block Consortium (ARC CBBC).

The featured customized near-ambient pressure XPS instrument used in this video was installed in 2016 and integrates the PHOIBOS 150 NAP with 1D DLD detector, the DeviSim NAP Reactor Cell, and microfocus X-ray source µ-FOCUS 600 NAP for XPS analysis up to 50 mbar. Additionally, a preparation chamber and a IS-EC-AP In-situ electrochemical cell were installed.

Scientific results obtained with the NAP-XPS system featured in the video have resulted in a publication in Nature Catalysis. The study combined different in-situ techniques to study the behavior of Pd-doped CeO2 catalysts. Click here for the article.

We would like to thank Dr. Nikolay Kosinov, Dr. Marta Costa Figueirdo and Prof. Emiel Hensen for their trust and support.
