Leibniz Institute investigates the life-cycle of catalysts by using their NAP-XPS system

Leibniz Institute for Catalysis (LIKAT) in Rostock, Germany investigates the life-cycle of catalysts under realistic conditions by using their NAP-XPS system.

We are happy to announce that the NAP-XPS system installed at the Leibniz Institute for Catalysis in Rostock is working at full capacity and is currently being used for the investigations of catalyst life cycles under realistic conditions.

Prof. Dr. Angelika Brückner, Dr. Stephan Bartling and their research team from the Leibniz Institute for Catalysis (LIKAT) in Rostock, Germany received their customized near-ambient pressure XPS instrument last year, which integrates the PHOIBOS 150 NAP with 1D DLD detector, the FlexMan laser heating manipulator, and microfocus X-ray source µ-FOCUS 600 NAP for XPS analysis up to 50 mbar. Additionally, a high-pressure cell HPC20 was installed for sample preparation under gas atmospheres up to 20 bar. Since the succesful commission, they have been optimizing their analysis methods for routine investigations of life cycles of catalysts, which they have describe in the recently published press release. We would like to thank Prof. Angelika Brückner and Dr. Stefphan Bartling for their trust and support.
