SNI
Berlin, GermanyGerman Conference for Research with Synchrotron Radiation, Neutrons and Ion Beams
A fundamental understanding of matter in all its facets is the basis for solving the great challenges all societies are facing. Research with synchrotron, neutron and ion radiation is indispensable to elucidate governing principles in functional materials and processes. In-situ and operando methods allow to optimize chemical processes and technological devices. Large-scale facilities are key to developing the technologies needed to meet the great challenges in the areas of, for instance, energy, health, information, and a to achieve a sustainable and circular economy. The still on-going pandemic has stressed the need for and the potential of an accelerated digitalization of the entire scientific workflow.
Scientists from all disciplines are invited to the SNI2022 Conference to present their newest results obtained using synchrotron radiation, neutron and ion beam facilities, to discuss novel developments and exchange on future ideas. This fifth conference of the SNI series, started in 2006, will highlight the benefits of collaborative research, bringing together researchers from University and Industry with scientists at large-scale facilities, and underline the importance of the availability of complementary experiments with synchrotron, neutron and ion beams towards understanding and ultimately controlling the properties of matter, materials, devices and processes.
