European Association on Applications of Surface and Interface Analysis

We are delighted to welcome you to the 19th ECASIA, which will be held face-to-face between SUNDAY 29TH MAY – FRIDAY 3RD JUNE, 2022, in the historic city of Limerick, Republic of Ireland.

The theme of ECASIA ‘22 is Surface Analyses for Advanced Manufacturing. The Modelling, Simulation And Innovative Characterisation (MOSAIC) group within the Biomaterials Cluster of the Bernal Institute, University of Limerick is organising this event. The Bernal Institute is a national centre for excellence in materials and surface characterisation.

ECASIA ’22 upholds the “SPIRIT OF ECASIA” to bring together scientists from universities, industry and instrument suppliers to bridge the gap between fundamental and applied research in surface science and to follow new trends in instrumentation. It brings into focus the cutting-edge scientific and technological developments in materials science/engineering, modern electronics and life-science/biotechnology with particular reference to surface and interface analysis..

Limerick is one of the major cities in Ireland and a hub for advanced manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, biomedical devices, and associated supply chains. Excellent academic educational institutions such as the University of Limerick and Limerick Institute of Technology make it an ideal location for scientific and technological exchange.

The University of Limerick is situated on 130 hectares of beautiful parkland, with the River Shannon as it’s unifying focal point. Located 4 kms outside Limerick City, the University is renowned for its superb facilities, including Fáilte Ireland-approved on-site accommodation, well equipped lecture theatres, high quality catering, sports facilities including a 50m swimming pool, and attractive riverside walks.

Limerick is also the gateway to Ireland’s breath-taking Wild Atlantic Way which offers visitors an opportunity to see the world’s longest defined coastal driving route and local attractions such as museums, cathedrals, castles and much more.

Ireland is renowned for its warm and friendly welcome. Latest travel information can be found here. For visa requirements please follow this link. We will provide a visa support letter only to confirmed registrants. Please contact us as soon as possible if you are in need for a visa letter.
