3S*22

After careful considerations, we have decided to try organizing the 34. Symposium on Surface Science (3S*22) from Sunday, March 13th to Saturday, March 19th, 2022 as a face-to-face meeting at the (Bundes) Ski Austria Akademy St. Christoph in St. Anton am Arlberg, Austria.

According to the information we have received, skiing in Austria will be possible again this winter, but under special Covid-19 related safety precautions. As the exact official requirements can change very quickly, we have decided to exercise utmost caution! We therefore ask for your understanding that we will only allow fully vaccinated participants to participate in the 3S*22 meeting. You will have to show your official EU Digital COVID Vaccination Certificate (QR code or foreign equivalent) upon registration and there will be no exceptions.

We have done our best to offer generous cancellation conditions (see below) and hope that you are as eager as we to meet friends and colleagues again face-to-face.
I. SCOPE AND GENERAL INFORMATION

The topics of 3S*22 will include all aspects of surface science, including, but not limited to

•     Surface structure
•     Reactions and dynamics at surfaces
•     Particle-surface interactions
•     Epitaxial growth
•     Adsorption and desorption
•     Applied surface and interface science
•     Heterostructures

The scientific program will include about 30 - 40 oral presentations (20 minutes talks including discussion), to be selected from the submitted extended abstracts. All other contributions will be presented as posters. Poster boards are 180 cm high and 90 cm wide. Poster sessions will be preceded by poster introductions, where authors will have the opportunity to orally present highlights of their work as a “2-minute commercial”.
