MML 2019

Madrid, Spain

The 10th International Symposium on Metallic Multilayers

The 10th International Symposium on Metallic Multilayers (MML 2019) will be held in 2019 during the week of June 17th – 21st at the Madrid Institute for Advanced Studies in Nanoscience (IMDEA Nanociencia). The venue is conveniently located on the UAM Catoblanco Campus, close to Barajas Airport, with excellent connections to downtown Madrid and its attractive region, surrounded by seven UNESCO heritage sites, and crowned by a National Park.

The central thrust of the MML symposia series is to bring together scientists working on magnetic and non-magnetic metallic multilayers and heterostructures in order to share expertise and experience. The main emphasis is on new developments in metallic, magnetic and superconducting heterostructures yielding novel physical phenomena as well as applications.

The scope of the 2019 symposium will include the synthesis and nanopatterning of magnetic nanostructures, the magnetization dynamics, including field current and light-driven phenomena, emergent spin-dependent phenomena, along with ordering in mesoscopic structures. In addition, at the Madrid meeting we will be looking into new applications concerned with practical devices such as magneto resistive sensors, nonvolatile magnetic memories, spin transistors, and spin injection devices for both information technology, transport, energy, and biomedical applications.
