Quantitative Comparison between Momentum Microscopy and Conventional ARPES
Comparing the Ability and Limits of Hemispherical ARPES Analyzers with ToF Momentum MIcroscopes
J. Maklar et al. from the Structural & Electronics Surface Dynamics Group at the FHI Berlin have recently published a comparative study between a conventional hemispherical analyser and a ToF Momentum microscope. This study compares the abilities and limits of both instruments on WSe2 with time and angular resolved photoemission spectroscopy (trARPES). The authors find the combination of a conventional spectrometer and a momentum microscope highly efficient due to the complementary nature of both methods. The interplay between a full view of the electronic structure in the MM and the ability to focus on the spectroscopy of refined areas of the reciprocal space with a hemispherical analyser enable an efficient measurement routine.
